Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)Our reputable client is a New Zealand based manufacturer of high-quality commercial mechanical equipment with a global reach. We are on the lookout for an experienced Team Leader reporting directly to the Operations Manager to lead their New Zealand Purchasing operations.Main Purpose of the position:Lead the New Zealand purchasing team to ensure effective supply of components and materials for manufacturing and spare parts supply from our NZ site.Facilitate growth by enacting global supply strategy and achieving key purchasing objectives.Accountabilities:Manage supplier relationships in the NZ market using their global supplier relationship management process.Leadership and performance management of team members.Use system functionality, maintain master data and carry out agreed processes to purchasecomponents from approved suppliers, drawing down to ensure components are available forProduction and Spare Parts.Investigate, develop, and gain agreement on countermeasure inventory solutions to ensureproduction continuity.Carry out root cause analysis to investigate stock shortage/excess, poor quality and nonconformance or any other inventory errors and formulate and introduce robust correctiveactions.Lead projects to develop Purchasing/Inventory processes/systems where requested.Attend relevant planning meetings to report on any significant inventory issues that may affect production. Identify and act upon supply chain constraints highlighted in the production schedule.Growing your teams knowledge, sustaining new processes and improvements.Maintaining a high standard of communication with all entities of the business.Ensuring the right components are available at the right time without excessive inventory.Seasonal spikes in workload.Making effective countermeasure decisions within delegated authority.Monday to Friday 7:30am-4pm.Skills and Experience Required:Excellent Interpersonal skills to engage suppliers, customers and all levels of staff.Knowledge and experience with ERP or MRP systems.Proven ability to manage time and key tasks in a production/distribution environment.Background and understanding of engineering/mechanical components, including technical.drawings and terminology.Proven ability in a supply role where supplier interaction and purchasing practices were employed, in a production environment.Proven ability to manage teams ,develop skills and influence change.Specialist Procurement.Practice of Theory of Constraints or other lean purchasing methods.Procurement Project Management.If you're interested please apply online and for any further information contact Mitchel on 025 205 9244.Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.Thinking about a career as a Team Leader?Explore job and salary trends, in-demand skills and role reviews.#J-18808-Ljbffr
