We have a job for an experienced farm worker (2-3 years) for a Herd Manager position on a farm. This is for a 520 cow farm in the Rerewhakaaitu area, 29 minutes from Rotorua, milking through a 47 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: – Milking and monitoring milk quality, – training junior staff, – stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), – fencing, weed control, – calving, calf rearing, – shed maintenance & preparation, – tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage – monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health – and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 52. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate for any hours beyond the maximum hours. Wage is up to $29.66 per hour subject to experience.
