About the role We are seeking a motivated and passionate Senior Geospatial / GIS Analyst to join our GIS team within the Water Group at Stantec New Zealand. Reporting to GIS Team Lead NZ, you will ensure the effective business development, management, delivery and maintenance of GIS related projects and resources. You will be a mentor / coach to other staff and seen as a technical expert in the broader Stantec whanau. This position will see you working across the broader Stantec business in Asia Pacific and is a fantastic opportunity to join a multi-disciplined, global organisation with a great team culture. In this varied role, you will Perform day to day mapping and analysis in ArcGIS and provide a range of innovative spatial solutions to internal and external clients Determine the most effective solutions to project requirements and negotiate priorities and timeframes for workload and other relevant tasks Provide spatial support and technical assistance to Australia and New Zealand junior GIS Analysts Coordinate spatial information projects including reporting project progress Support the development and promotion of spatial business development strategies for internal and external clients What you will bring You will be an experienced geospatial professional with a passion and strong understanding of spatial, remote sensing, survey and geographical concepts and their application within a multi-disciplinary professional environment You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and are able to work effectively with our internal and external stakeholders/clients across ANZ. In addition, you will be an advocate for innovations and continuous improvement in technologies and GIS practice and enjoy mentoring and developing less experienced staff. Other attribute may help you succeed in the role: Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline 5 years' experience, ideally in a consulting environment Experience working with GIS Platforms, Esri software suite including ArcPro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS online Experience with FME, Microsoft 365 and Database design would be beneficial but not required Well-developed organizational skills in planning, conducting and coordinating complex projects.
