About the role Due to continuous expansion, this is a new role to join a high performing team in the Merchandise department. In this role your main objective will be to provide high quality financial analysis, and support to the Head of Merchandise – Commercial, that will aid planning and optimal commercial decision making. You will also challenge assumptions and bring financial perspectives and disciplines into senior level decision making. Key accountabilities will include Use data to prepare quality financial analysis, financial models, and reports to create narratives to support informed decision making, including providing recommended strategic and tactical positioning Prepare and support commercial reviews of performance with a focus on cost to serve across Vendors and Product Categories Support the development and maintenance of commercial templates to assist in commercial conversations Support the development and maintenance of management reporting to inform commercial performance against set targets Support junior colleagues in preparing financial analysis, models and report creation Identify and support process improvement within Merchandise - Commercial, with the aim of continuous improvement Provide support to projects About you University qualification in Accounting, or equivalent tertiary qualification Ideally of 5 years Finance experience Previous experience in commercial/business partnering roles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve financial and operational issues Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of staff in a clear and concise manner The ability to turn data into insights Advanced Excel and modelling skills Personable with excellent relationship skills.
