Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Payroll Specialist & HR Advisor position is a busy and varied role offering plenty of autonomy. This is a multi-faceted business with a number of entities, as well as multiple contracts servicing each area, providing a wide range of tasks to keep things interesting. Key areas of responsibility will include: Weekly payroll processing of approx. 200 employees using Ace Payroll and HumanforceEnsuring all payroll related tax obligations are metKeeping up to date with payroll legislation and implementing any changes as requiredProcessing payroll journals using MYOB AccountRight and monthly reconciliations of payroll/tax accountsManaging staff records and ensuring payroll policies and procedures are up to dateBecome the subject matter expert of the Humanforce rostering systems, providing training to Managers and supporting the authorisation processProvide HR advisory and support services to Managers and the Leadership teamGenerate employment contracts, process police checks, and ensure documentation complies with NZ employment lawTake the lead on the research and implementation of a new payroll systemProvide cover for the Finance Manager and Accounts Administrator where necessaryTo be considered for this role, you will be experienced in managing the end-to-end payroll process and be up to date with all NZ legislation including the Holidays Act 2003. Experience working with different payroll software and exposure to systems implementations and upgrades would also be an advantage, along with experience using rostering and scheduling systems such as Humanforce. A high level of attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset and can-do attitude to problem solving is required to make this role a success.
