Details of the offer

Registered Nurses
Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation - Dunedin
Permanent fulltime and part time positions
Picture this….You’re a NZ registered nurse working in a supportive and friendly team environment, committed to quality patient centred care and at the same time having fun. On your days off you can enjoy the quirky city vibe or enjoy an array of outdoor and recreational pursuits such as skiing, water-sports and tramping, just a short drive from your doorstep!!
Sounds appealing??..... Then come and join us!
Working in a dynamic and evolving interdisciplinary team within the services covering Older People’s Health Rehabilitation Services based at Dunedin Hospital. You'll work alongside other senior nurses, and wider team members in planning and providing rehabilitation to our patients.
You'll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation with medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions including stroke. You will also have the opportunity to support, teach and upskill students and rotational staff.
Ideally you will bring to us a minimum of 2 years nursing experience that includes working with stroke, orthopaedic, frail elderly and other neurological conditions. You would be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective rehabilitation using a patient centred and evidence based approach to goal setting and intervention.
In addition to the experience you bring us, you will have enthusiasm and a willingness to commit to our team and patients. You will be expected to be active in service quality initiatives, therefore be proactive, innovative and have a quality driven leadership approach.
We take pride in supporting our staff to grow as a nurse working in this specialty, so we run an ongoing support and professional development programme including regular team in-services, senior staff mentoring and a comprehensive competency training framework, and access to course and conference funding.
For these permanent roles covering the service, you will need to be a New Zealand registered Nurse with a current annual practising certificate.
Closing Date: Sunday, 7 June 2020
Please note that we may begin shortlisting as we receive applications and could withdraw the advertising at any time. For further information please contact Jan Strachan, Recruitment Advisor – Strategy, Primary and Community Directorate, Phone (03) 214 5770 or Email: **********
Children’s Act 2014
Due to this position having contact with children and the SDHB’s commitment to child protection, you will be subject to ‘safety checks’ under the Children’s Act at the time of hire and thereafter as per the relevant legislation.
Pre-Employment Occupational Health Assessment
In the interests of protecting our people and our patients, all appointments will be subject to an Occupational Health Assessment to confirm suitability and fitness to work in the role you are being considered for.
