Purchasing Officer

About the opportunity:

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of Freeze Dryers. With the ongoing strong demand for their products, the company is looking for a skilled purchasing officer to add to their team.
Role description:

As the Purchasing Officer, you will be working from the production schedules and bill of materials to ensure a variety of equipment is procured on time and expedited accordingly. This role includes ensuring that the best value options and agreements are negotiated with the client's suppliers.
Responsibilities will include:

Purchasing of specialty equipment for projects
Review inventory, provide restock recommendations and identify potential supply problems
Monitor purchase orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt delivery timeframes
Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders & warehouse to manage delivery of shipments
Investigate alternate suppliers and pricing to ensure continuity of supply
Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records
This role will suit someone with the following background / experience / qualities:

Relevant experience in a manufacturing / engineering environment–preferably supply chain
Strong communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Be well organised and able to multi-task
Proficient using the Microsoft Suite
Experience in Nimbus ERP software would be an advantage
