About the role We have a rare opportunity for a highly capable procurement specialist to join our Supply Chain team as a Procurement Category Lead/Specialist . This is a pivotal role in the business responsible for the procurement of Oils and Fats – essential commodities that are key to our success. If you have experience managing the procurement of commodities, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate market risks, then look no further. This is a newly created role where you will have the opportunity to utilise your in-depth knowledge of ingredient sourcing within global supply chains. This is a Monday-to-Friday role, with the opportunity to work flexibly and this role reports into the Procurement Manager. Some of the duties include (but are not limited to): Managing supply chain operations of oils & fats by sourcing, reviewing, and purchasing to meet the business requirements. Growing and maintaining strong supplier and distributor relationships, as well as evaluating existing performance. Managing the supply and financial optimisation, negotiating favourable pricing and terms, identifying market risks and recommending strategies to manage these. Leading the planning, execution, and management of change for the procurement of oil and fats. To be successful, you will have: At least 5 year's experience in S&OP and commodity trading. Proficiency in global commodity trading. Established networks across Supply Chain channels in New Zealand. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred not essential). Strong negotiation skills and a high level of financial acumen.
