Manager, Community and Whanau Wellbeing - Bay of Plenty, Rotorua - NPHS at Te Whatu Ora, Waikato Join Te Whatu Ora at a key time of change where you will meaningfully contribute to our kaupapa of creating a more equitable, accessible, cohesive, and people-centred health system. Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Te Manawa Taki regional team as Manager, Community and Whanau Wellbeing – Bay of Plenty, Rotorua. The primary organisational impact outcome sought from this position is that NPHS Local and Regional Promotion and Disease Prevention Services achieve equity; are responsive to the needs of community and whanau and are delivered in partnership with Iwi and Maori communities by a Tiriti dynamic and culturally responsive workforce.
Proven engagement with communities in your area and demonstrated ability developing and maintaining internal and external culturally safe relationships; providing leadership that builds sustainability and resilience and that lifts performance of a team/unit. You will be able to deliver on programmes of work in a complex environment and be involved in developing and implementing effective team strategies. You are comfortable with change; embrace diversity and have proven relationships with iwi/hapu and/or Pacific communities and leaders.
A Bachelor's degree in an area relevant to health promotion, education, disease prevention, Maori or Pacific Health, community development, and/or public health or comparable/extensive experience working at a senior leadership levelSignificant experience in a senior level position with a wide span of control and leading leaders, including solid experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing teamsAble to think, plan and act strategically and to connect with and inspire people to build a highly motivated and engaged workforceDemonstrated understanding of organisational risk and compliance, legal and regulatory requirements regarding relevant regulations and standards in New Zealand5 years' experience in varied environments with responsibilities for achieving equitable health outcomes and responsive to Te Tiriti o WaitangiExtensive business and people management experience for managing a significant division of the organisationDemonstrated mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present in a clear, persuasive, and impactful way, to influence others to embrace change, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomesA commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
