Hays legal are working with one of Australias leading regulatory bodies as they look to add a number of lawyers into their Sydney based teams.
Your new role
This permanent, full-time opportunity will see you working with the organisation as an in-house counsel, advising on corporate and commercial legal matters that affect the business. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide array of contracts and agreements, and advising on secrecy provisions, employment law, MOU's, IP and IT matters.
In addition to the general corporate element of this role, there is also a restructuring and insolvency element, in that you will be working with the business to plan against and resolve systemic and particular issues relating to specific financial institutions.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have an Australian practicing certificate with 3-5 years post qualification experience from a leading-tier law firm, or in-house at a financial institution.
This experience would have seen you gaining exposure general commercial and corporate work, developing strong drafting and negotiation skills, and strong interpretation skills. Some experience in restructuring and insolvency would be beneficial for this position, but is not essential.
Ideally, you will have an understanding of legislation, relevant ASIC Regulatory Guides and APRA Prudential Standards, that affect the banking, insurance and superannuation industries.
