Details of the offer

Land Transport Manager - Central Hawke's Bay District Council This is a genuine legacy leadership opportunity for those experts in roading and land transport engineering. As Land Transport Manager for Central Hawke's Bay District Council (CHBDC) you will be the owner of the land transport and roading assets for CHBDC. Your core focus and function will be to create a sustainable asset and contract management structure for roading and land transport. You will be leading a team and driving the direction, knowledge and understanding of the road asset conditions, and will be assuring accountability of the expenditure, financials and the relationships with the Councils' main contractors. To be successful here you will need a strong base of land transport and roading expertise. Experience in a Council setting or in a consulting environment will be important here. You must be able to understand the NZTA and local government funding and relationship interface. And you will have the experience that it takes to manage the conflict and pressures that often sit between key funders, Councils and community expectations. This Council has a strong desire for this district to thrive; roading infrastructure sits right at the heart of that. There is a committed and solid team here – your role will be to build on this while getting the very best out of them. This role is suited to experienced roading and land transport managers ready for a change and seeking a real impact role. You will be known as someone who is inquisitive and open to new innovative ideas. You must be a strong communicator and confident in your ability to lead asset and contract management programmes. If you have this expertise and you are ready and keen to be part of something special here in this region then we would love to hear from you. Remuneration reflects the scope of this role. Support for relocation will be offered for those needing to relocate. Please apply through this portal, or feel free to phone the team at Populous People to learn more on 06 875 8446 .
