Napier City Council seeks an effective Team Leader to bolster our Community Strategies team on a full-time, permanent basis. As the Team Leader, you will plan thestrategic direction setting for our Community Advisors team andoverseeing the implementation of community policies, plans, and projects. Your pivotal role will also helpcoordinate your team's annual work program. Your responsibilities will encompass: Effective monitoring, analysis and regular reporting on implementation against policies and strategies Assist the Manager Community Strategies with the development and allocation of annual work programme, including engagement activities Prepare plans, reports and presentations for key stakeholders including community, funders and Council Develop consultation / engagement plans that achieve the key objectives of the project / matter Assist with planning staffing levels for current and future needs Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding To be considered for this integral position, candidates must possess: A tertiary degree in social policy, public policy, community development, or a related discipline Proven experience in a Team Leader capacity (or senior role within a similar sector) Knowledge and/or experience of applying community development and engagement principles to achieve wellbeing outcomes for and with communities of interest Demonstrated proficiency in community engagement Moreover, exceptional communication skills are paramount, coupled with an unwavering dedication to delivering outstanding customer service, both internally amongst colleagues and externally within our community.
