You are a junior-level Digital Designer who is keen to get stuck in, learn, and grow in this humming Ponsonby, Auckland agency. You have proven digital design skills creating web banners from static to animated, building out display banner architecture, and supporting brand communications along with some print work across multiple channels.
You will have daily mentorship from the Creative Director. You will also collaborate on design and advertising projects and enjoy working in a collaborative creative environment – always be ready to help out and be proactive – and of course, be up for a laugh.
A Junior Designer brings a positive attitude to learn, grow, work hard, and contribute to the culture of the design team whanau. With your stunning attention to detail and artistic flare, your responsibilities will be working across digital and print communication rollouts. These include banner display and supporting the Intermediate and Senior Designers in creating ideas and executions in a range of print and digital media formats. In most cases the Junior Designer will work in conjunction with the Design Director and Senior Designers in the preparation of layouts and designs for presentation.
General Responsibilities: • Ability to craft and enhance concepts with the oversight of the Design Director
• Preparation of finished materials in formats as required
• Briefing to production at completion of artwork
• Keeping acquainted with the latest technology and software developments
• Investigating and experimenting to maximize usage of computer equipment
• The maintenance and correct usage of Agency equipment
• Present work with passion and flare
• Enjoy working collaboratively with enthusiasm in a team environment
• Poise under pressure and a sense of humor
Print/Conventional: • Laying out ads to finished art across a range of media
• Producing key visuals for campaign work and implementing across a wide range of executions.
• Creative of presentation documents for pitch work
• Art Direction supported by the Design Director
Digital: • Creation of animated banner ads for a key visual for campaign related comms
• Basic UX/UI
• Creation of basic websites
• Creating simple motion graphics
Skills Required: • Understanding and implementation of conceptual design process
• A proficiency in: Adobe CC Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign & Acrobat
• An understanding of: Microsoft Suite; Word, PowerPoint, Sketch, HTML, Adobe XD
• An understanding of UX/UI and CSS would be advantageous
