Ko wai matou? - Who are we? - A little about the company and history Established in 2019, Te Kahui Raraunga Charitable Trust (TKR) is an independent body which leads action required to realisetheadvocacyof the Data Iwi Leaders Group. TKR's aim is to enhance the social, cultural, environmental, and economic well-being of Maori; to enable iwi, hapu and whanau Maori to access, collect and use Maori data to measure and identify areas of Maori well-being requiring change. Supporting innovation and research that advances the use of Maori data, the overarching mission is to educate Maori on the benefits of collection and use of Maori data and to promote and advance opportunities for iwi, hapu and whanau Maori to share knowledge and information relating to collection and use of Maori data. Realising the potential of this data to make a sustainable, positive difference, TKR are co-designing a system-wide model for Maori data governance to ensure data design, collection and dissemination serves iwi and Maori needs. Te ahua o Te Turunga - The nature of the position The Mawhitiwhiti Raraunga - Data Analyst will use their analytical and relationship skills to provide tailored datasets to iwi and hapu for their important decision-making. Transforming and interpreting data using analytical and statistical skills , and providing data, advice, insights, and recommendations to benefit iwi, hapu and communities. Engaging with iwi Maori, delivering information and data insights in a way that tells a clear story, this position provides analysis and insights that contribute to iwi and hapu wellbeing. This position will enable the advance of thought leadership for iwi Maori across the data and digital ecosystems.Building future capability and leadership in data and digital kaupapa for iwi Maori, you will be providing credible expert advice to iwi information managers and colleagues with respect to data provided through Te Whata. Furthermore, you will contribute to and support key projects in the Digital Programme as well providing mentoring support to interns and junior analysts. Contributing to delivery of the Te Whata Programme by providing design, analytical and insight support, you will apply a critical te ao Maori and iwi lens to the design, methods and tools recommended by Crown partners and officials. Nga tino Pukenga/Wheako - Essential skills/experiences for the role. A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable, and experience in Power BI or GIS would be a distinct advantage. Skill, knowledge, and experience required are to include; · Comprehensive experience working in data/digital design, development, analysis or insights. · Be familiar with a broad range of advanced quantitative and qualitative analytic techniques. · Can demonstrate practical knowledge of iwi and Maori perspectives and uses of data, leading to insights that meet iwi Maori needs. · Excellent oral and written communication skills and able to apply these in diverse contexts, including iwi Maori settings. · Demonstrated success in delivering collaborative outcomes. · Flexibility to adapt with changing environments and systems. · Ability to self-manage and great time management skills. · Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. · Working or developing knowledge of te reo me ona tikanga. This is a full-time position and can be based in Rotorua or Wellington, with a degree of flexibility built in.
