We are a passionate team that works hard to ensure minimal disruption to everyday IT operations, managing core networks and keeping our IT infrastructure secure through digital security.The salary range for this position is between $100,368.85 and $118,081.00 and appointment within that range will be dependent on skills and experience of the successful candidate. Te ahuatunga a te turanga | About the role Reporting to the Chief Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing effective security operations and administration of our digital environment while maintaining reliability, performance, and availability of the systems for Council and our ICT partners. In this role, you will: Conduct security risk assessments of network security devices and lead incident responses. Implement and manage security elements such as firewalls, access control, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems. Develop business continuity scenarios for security specific incidents. Provide Incident response escalation, analysis, and support. Identify cyber-security related risks to Council across people, process, and technology. Deliver reporting for operational security metrics. Assist with delivering security awareness training and development. Monitor, identify and assess new and emerging hardware and software security technologies and products to keep us ahead of the curve.O pumanawa | Your skills and experienceYou will be an innovative thinker who is passionate about cyber security and has a sound understanding of the digital landscape, security technologies and modern policies and practices around cyber security. You will also: Have at least 3 years' experience working in intermediate level security related roles. Have a relevant tertiary qualification. Have a security related qualification/certificate such as CISSP or CEH or CCSP.Take a collaborative and logical approach to problem solving.Be an effective communicator, both verbally and written, with the ability to adapt your interactions to audiences of varying technical ability.Be able to work collaboratively both within and across teams, but also autonomously when required.Be available to be part of the on-call roster for after-hours support.
