Located in the heart of the Central North Island, this manufacturing and exporting company with revenues of circa $300m operates in a competitive global industry. In order to continue momentum, the company is seeking to appoint a talented finance professional to help achieve both its short term and long term financial and commercial objectives. Reporting to a highly regarded CEO, the CFO will bring initiative and commercial acumen, partnering with the CEO on optimising profitability, managing risk, and capitalising on commercial opportunities. Importantly s/he will have the ability to drive the financial performance of a manufacturing / supply chain centric business that exports to various global markets. The CFO will need to be a highly visible, engaging, and collaborative leader. The appointee will be a commercial and strategic 'co-pilot' to the Chief Executive and will have considerable engagement with the company's Board and a range of external stakeholders. The CFO will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all finance related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, treasury, information technology, legal, risk management, sustainability, insurance, property management, investor relationships and institutional financing. As a capable leader, the CFO will be skilled at fostering employee engagement and ultimately driving high levels of performance. Key criteria for this appointment includes: A high level of commercial and strategic acumen to closely manage the key value drivers for the company and assist the CEO and executive team in executing on the performance agenda. The interpersonal dexterity and executive influencing skills to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – customers, staff, board members, industry groups, shareholders et al. Solid financial leadership experience gained in a manufacturing / processing and/or distribution centric environment, ideally exporting product globally. Strong internal and external financial reporting capabilities to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders. Initiative, resilience, and authenticity, along with the highest levels of business acumen and personal and professional integrity. Tertiary (and ideally CA) qualification.
