Centre Manager - Kaiako

We invite applications from NZ qualified and fully certificated kaiako with competency and experience in leading our kaiako team to join us towards the fulfillment of our short and long term plans. This position is full-time approximately 35 hours per week.Geckos is a boutique preschool centre licensed for 26 tamariki. It is one of three high quality early learning centres in the Regent, Whangarei area that work together to create homely spaces for each age group.We offer a competitive hourly rate on the Extended Pay Parity scale, staff benefits, beautiful purpose designed indoor and outdoor learning environments, professional learning and much more.We are looking for a respectful, caring and experienced kaiako with previous management/leadership experience with an open mind set, and a strong drive to work collaboratively with senior management to confidently and positively lead a teaching team.You will bring:* Enthusiasm, experience and a passion for ECE demonstrated by your commitment and practice in delivering high-quality care and education for preschoolers* Proven leadership skills with the ability to foster growth and development within your team* Mentoring and coaching skills - the ability to confidently lead a team with assessment, planning and internal evaluation* Professional, adaptable and an open communication style with the ability to build rapport with others* Ability to use initiative and make sound professional decisions* A positive and collaborative working style that is critical to your success* An open-minded attitude and the ability to adapt accordingly* Knowledge of ECE regulations, Licensing Criteria, the implementation of Te Whariki, Te Tiriti o Waitangi.* Effective communication skills, both verbally and writtenThis is a wonderful and cosy little centre, we would love to bring on someone who has the passion and drive for early learning in a warm and homely environment. Please feel free to get in touch and come visit us.
