Trimble is recruiting for an Applications Specialist to fill an opportunity in Christchurch, New Zealand .
This position would suit a recent Graduate in Surveying / Geomatics , or alternatively a Surveyor looking to re-focus their career on surveying and spatial technology.
Job Summary
The Applications Specialist will be involved in the specification, testing, documentation and preparation for release of Trimble Geospatial projects for the land surveyor. You are required to carry out component testing of field data collection software and field systems testing of mobile software and systems, GNSS receivers, and office and cloud-based software systems. In addition, there will be the specification of new software features and the creation of user documentation of these features.
Application Specialists will be assigned discrete segments of functionality from a project and will be responsible for:
Interpretation of high-level marketing requirements into detailed user-centric specifications suitable for development purposes
Day to day liaison with development staff
Component and system testing of products during development
Provision of end user documentation and on-line help
Input and assistance on released product issues
Input into marketing materials as required by the product management group.
You must possess the following skills, prerequisites and abilities:
BSc degree or equivalent qualification in one of the Geospatial disciplines (Land Survey, Geodesy, or Geomatics).
Enjoy and work well in a team-based environment, as well as being self-motivated to succeed
Good problem-solving skills
The ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written
Demonstrate and project a high level of energy and enthusiasm
Accept a high level of personal responsibility for project success in an environment of shared resources
Strong commitment to quality, persistence and inquisitiveness.
