This is an Auckland district wide position based at Greenlane to work 0.6FTE as a roaming nurse and 0.4FTE at a centrally located school health centre.
This role will report to the Senior Programme Manager Child and Youth Health in the Child, Youth and Women's Health Team and will work alongside other dedicated youth health nurses. Your key area of responsibility will be the Auckland District Health Board area Enhanced School Based Health Services Programme.
In addition to this you will work alongside other contributors in the district to provide primary health care services to secondary schools in the Programme.
You will be youth-friendly and focussed as well as innovative, independent, and have the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders such as school management, School Based Health Service nurses regionally, General Practitioners, clinical psychology staff, Primary Health Organisations and Non-Government Organisations, to provide best practice clinical services across the Programme.
At a minimum you must be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current Practising Certificate, five years youth health experience, be a highly skilled communicator, exemplify lifelong learning and have strong youth health nursing skills - particularly in the context of school based health care nursing. In addition to this you would be expected to have a Post-graduate Diploma in Youth Health Nursing and/or be on a post-graduate pathway. It is a given that you be an excellent role model for youth health nursing and have an approachable and can-do manner.
