About the organisation He Waka Tapu is a Kaupapa Maori organisation who have been supporting individuals and the community for over 20 years. He Waka Tapu works to increase the health and wellbeing of whanau. About the roles We are looking to fill 2x positions: 1 full-time position (3pm finish on Friday's) to cover our facilitation for mandated Tane. 1 part-time position working 20 hours per week to assist with Wahine referrals. Working within our mandated team, you will: Complete assessments to build whakawhanaungatanga with the tane or wahine referred to our non-violence programmes, understand and identify their treatment needs, and create a programme plan. Facilitate our non-violence groups and individual programmes for tane or wahine Develop, plan, and prepare group and individual programme sessions to enable optimal participation and effective learning. Support whaiora to develop effective safety plans. Manage a caseload of tane and wahine referred for non-violence programmes, supporting their programme journey. Support, challenge, and inspire whaiora to initiate and maintain positive changes in their lives for the benefit of themselves and their whanau. Skills and experience Experience working with Maori and within a kaupapa Maori environment. Experience in establishing effective working relationships with individuals, their whanau, and other key stakeholders. Alignment to He Waka Tapu values and core principles and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Commitment and/or experience working in a Whanau Ora model. Be professional with proven Mental Health or Alcohol and Other Drugs, Family Violence qualifications or experience in these fields. Deliver group facilitation during the day, evenings, and weekends. Hold a current full driver's licence.
