An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Supervisor to join the Red Stag Timber sawmill team of 400 total staff, based in Rotorua.
The successful applicant will have the unique opportunity to learn alongside the current Supervisor, and this role is supported by 5 shift Team Leaders.
Normal work days are Monday to Friday dayshift hours, and will oversee the safe day to day operations of two treatment plants which run as a 24/7 operation.
Flexibility with start and finish times will be required to oversee handovers between shifts.
Candidates will require prior supervisory experience and will preferably have had a timber production, treatment plant and some mechanical ability.
Key tasks and skills required include:
Daily supervision including ensuring manning levels and roster requirements are met.Leading safety training, skill development, and overall team performance.Monitoring the treatment process, minimising downtime and ensuring the plant is running to schedule.Computer skills in Excel and Word.Assisting with the planning of timber in and out of the treatment plant.That production equipment is maintained in good order, through developing mechanical knowledge of the plant and ensuring proactive maintenance is scheduled.Experience with timber treatment processes is an advantage.Excellent communication skills and initiative are essential to be successful in this role.
