Technical Writer

About the Role
Working for this growing government department, you will partner with a development team assisting in a core modernisation project. As the Technical Writer, you will work with the team in understanding business systems and their functionality, documenting details and assisting with testing.
Ideally, you possess experience in technical documentation (analysis, design) for a range of software solutions - including the facilitation of testing requirements.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
Review and maintenance of application support documentation including restructure of existing material;
Analyse functionality of existing applications;
Creation of test cases based on analysis;
Application testing - test plans, test executions, results and reports; and
Defect tracking and resolution.

Skills and Experience
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain application support documentation;
Demonstrated ability to analyse and capture information for existing systems and functionality;
Provide concise, accurate reporting for analysis and test/defect management;
Demonstrated experience in effective defect/issue creation and tracking;
Demonstrated ability to create and execute a test plan as well as individual test cases; and
Demonstrated ability to manage a test process to achieve required project outcomes.
