Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored. We have a permanent, full-time Team Lead, Quality and Monitoring opportunity available to join our System Enablers & Engagement Group within the Prevention Directorate of NPHS . This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHSstrategic agenda for Pae Ora(Healthy Futures). The Team Lead, Quality and Monitoring role provides day to day oversight of the Quality and Monitoring team and will be responsible for providing senior technical advice, peer review and quality assurance of team deliverables across our national Screening and Immunisation programmes. Additionally, this role works closely with the Manager Quality, Safety and Vaccinator Workforce to problem solve and escalate where required to resolve or seek advice in complex situations. This Team Lead, Quality and Monitoring role will provide leadership for the advisory team and projects including the development and continuous improvement of policies, standards, and other initiatives. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience Experience managing a team's capability and capacity to deliver on current and future work priorities Ability to actively lead and manage a team of critical people and develop successors for future roles Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality Previous experience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice Experience of managing risk and the ability to make clear decisions on when to report upwards Experience of project management skills to deliver on work programmes in a timely and effective manner A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role.
