These positions are based in our office in Christchurch. Reporting to the Software Development Practice Lead, the Technical Lead will play a crucial leadership role in guiding our development teams through the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. This position involves a blend of hands-on coding, design, and architecture, along with team leadership, coaching and mentorship. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, a team player, and a skilled communicator, capable of leading projects to successful completion while ensuring technical excellence.Key Responsibilities:Exercise team leadership through active coaching and mentoring, dedicating a significant portion of time to developing team members' skills and fostering a growth mindset.Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and maintainable software applications that meet business objectives.Collaborate with product owners, and cross-functional teams to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment. This includes regular one-on-one sessions, setting professional development goals, and offering feedback and support.Ensure adherence to best practices in coding standards, documentation, QA, and security measures.Oversee the technical aspects of the delivery of solutions, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and assess their applicability to our goals and needs.Facilitate and assist with code reviews, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code and identifying opportunities for improvement.Help manage and prioritize tasks, ensuring timely delivery.Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.What's in it for you?We are focused on growth, scaling up and out. You will be adaptable and open to change and possess the following technical competencies:Experience designing solution-level and enterprise-level software architectureExperience with software security practices and frameworksExperience building and leading a team of 5+ EngineersExperience with full-stack developmentExperience with internet, hosting and domain productsAble to write, read and understand a wide range of programming languages, development applications and technical stacks.
