A future that delivers a net-zero carbon economy and a reliable and secure electricity system.About the teamTranspower's Grid Development division ensures the future health and performance of our assets, supporting planned or potential investment in generation and meeting the growing electricity demand from increased renewable energy integration over the next 30 years.This will require a step change in investment and growth. From a transmission perspective, a total of $14 billion of capital investment will be required over the period between 2020 and 2035 (excludes System Operator) .The opportunityIn Wellington and Christchurch our team ensures that investment in a range of interesting transmission infrastructure is targeted to the right asset, at the right time, for the most economic whole of life cost whilst continually managing risk to the appropriate level in accordance with Transpower's strategic objectives.Due to our growing work programme, we have 5 roles available across the following portfolios:Grid Facilities - buildings and grounds associated with Transpower's HVAC substation sites and critical facilities.Lines - towers, poles, foundations, conductors, earthwire, insulators and other hardware.Primary Assets - power transformers, high and medium voltage power cable circuits, and indoor and outdoor switchgear (a Senior Planner role is also available for this portfolio in Wellington)Secondary Systems - secondary assets, HVDC, dynamic reactive power, protection, intelligent electronic devices, capacitors and reactors.You will work as part of an exceptional team of professionals who actively seek input from others and collaborate widely across the business.About youWe'd love to hear from you if you have a background in the energy sector, asset management, other utilities, or consulting. You may have applied sound asset and risk management principles and completed options analysis and cost benefit analysis to support investment decisions.You will be someone who takes a systematic approach to problem solving and builds strong relationships both internally and externally.Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:A relevant tertiary qualification - engineering or asset management would be ideal.Some understanding or experience of working in Asset Management/with asset management frameworks.Commercial acuity to make sound investment decisions using the principles of financial analysis and risk management.Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues to diverse groups at all levels.Proven ability to analyse and review large data sets.While not essential, understanding of the energy sector and assets applicable to the sectorwill be advantageous.Join us at TranspowerAotearoa is powered by the people who work here.
