The Opportunity Ready Steady Quit (RSQ) is a Ministry of Health funded smoking cessation service for tangata (people) within the ADHB and WDHB areas. We are passionate about helping whanau to become smokefree, and we're on the lookout for someone to join our team. We have multiple opportunities available in both a permanent and fixed term, and full time and part time capacities.
We are changing peoples' lives through empowerment, equipping them with skills and resources and supporting them in their journey to becoming smokefree. The key goal of our RSQ Kaimahi - Practitioner, is to provide personalised support including health education. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include assessing the needs of clients in order to help them create a support plan, utilising face to face motivational interviewing skills and scheduling visits to maximise contacts and administration activities. The ability to self-manage, and enable behavioural changes in others will be essential, alongside being able to monitor progress and assist with the facilitation of groups and health promotion activities. This is an incredibly rewarding role with an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of whanau across Tamaki Makaurau, Auckland.
