Ko ta matou mahi - Our Role
We are now looking to recruit aSenior Urban Designerto be based from our Hobsonville Point office.
This role undertakes the masterplanning and urban design work required in Kainga Ora's urban development projects. Reporting to the Manager Masterplanning and Urban Design, your key areas of responsibility will include:
Liaising with consultants on their input to development and master plans for new developments
Providing timely and quality urban design and masterplanning support and advice to precinct and redevelopment project teams to inform decision making and project delivery
Providing design advice to the Design Review Panel and builder partners
Liaison with Local Authorities, Iwi partners and other stakeholders on masterplanning and urban design issues.
Nga pumanawatanga ou - What you will bring
This role would suit an aspirational but also pragmatic Urban Designer with at least 7 years experience gained in Auckland or a comparable location. As our ideal candidate you will also demonstrate:
Tertiary qualified, with an undergraduate degree in architecture, landscape architecture or urban planning
Experience in the preparation of urban design reports, including the preparation of graphic material, with strong technical drawing skills
Proven negotiation skills and ability to deliver quality projects within time and budget constraints
Previous experience working with the RMA and local authority consents processes
Experience working within or with iwi entities and/or Maori design practices with respect to implementing Maori concepts in urban design
Sound understanding of the commercial drivers of residential property development
A customer centric approach
Able to mentor and support others in growing their understanding of urban design
Outstanding communication skills and formal presentation skills
A collaborative team player, with a positive, upbeat attitude
