The call for "Nothing about us, without us" is an integral part of our operation.     Mo tenei turanga mahi | About the Role:   As the Senior Solicitor you will provide legal expertise, skills, and knowledge in the delivery of quality legal services to Whaikaha.  You will provide legal advice to Senior Managers on a range of operational, public law and corporate issues facing Whaikaha to identify legal risk and ensure we meet our legal obligations in a way that betters outcomes for disabled people. This is a new team with opportunities to help develop an build legal frameworks and practices. There is an opportunity for you to diversify and develop your skill set in different areas of law such as employment law, litigation and contract law. This will be paired with a strong understanding of legal, policy and practice issues relevant to the Ministry's business.  Your practical experience will see you comfortable providing quality legal services to clients, pro-actively anticipating client need and appearing before Courts and Tribunals.  You will have experience overseeing management of workflow and providing guidance to others to support the delivery of work.  To undertake this role successfully, you will be a disabled person or be able to establish credibility and trust with the disability community, as well as having empathy and an understanding of the unique and diverse experiences of disabled people.    Mo Te Tono, Mo Te Tirotiro Tatai Turanga | Apply or View the Position Description:   A copy of the position description can be found here.
