This is a diverse role that includes content development and strategy, author commissioning and relationship management, and close interaction with product, sales, customer experience, marketing and customer discovery teams.The role is responsible for ensuring high quality and current content, developing strong relationships with new and existing authors, commissioning and editing content, and working closely with external providers and internal teams. This role is also responsible for the implementation of major content-related developments or new products.Reporting to the Practice Area Manager, this is a full-time role to be based in Wellington or Auckland, New Zealand with the possibility of combined home/office-based arrangements to have flexible work-life balance.Responsibilities:Content Management & Operational Efficiency:Awareness of developments, legislative reforms, procedures, case law and trends within practice areaEditing all submitted content for grammar, sense, clarity and accuracy.Deep understanding of publishing processes and coordination with third parties to ensure content quality and timeliness to market.Content Expertise & Support:Responsible for providing expertise in relation to product and/or practice area specific features, key functions and overall value to customers.Cost Management:Managing costs and providing information to support cost planning.Relationship Management (external & internal):Full management of all authors within portfolio including author commissioning/decommissioning, contract negotiations and queries, and content maintenance & development.Requirements:Law degree or demonstrated legal practice area knowledge and legal research skills and/or publishing experience.Superior reading and legal comprehension skills with high attention to detail is a must to succeed in this role.Familiarity with te reo Maori and a commitment to ensuring growth of content that includes tikanga Maori, matauranga Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated project management skills.Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.Good commercial awareness.Sound level of computer literacy and computer skills in Microsoft Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.Work in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
