As a Senior Software Engineer you will get to:
Write reusable, testable, and efficient code for the business APIs and other backend systems.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary, technical team made up of around 30 staff including talented engineers, data scientists and product managers to solve complex problems.
Design, lead and deliver innovative solutions to existing and new challenges.
Integrate different components and develop new services with a focus on open source to allow a minimal friction developer interaction with the platform and application services.
Identify and troubleshoot any availability and performance issues at multiple layers of deployment, from hardware, operating environment, network, and application.
Evaluate performance trends and expected changes in demand and capacity, and establish the appropriate scalability plans.
Troubleshoot and solve customer issues on production deployments.
Tech stack & qualities needed:
Senior, commercial software engineering experience.
Extensive Python programming knowledge.
Experience and/or interest in, and understanding of the ?Reactive Manifesto? (advantageous).
Familiarity with any (in not all!) of the following container technologies ? Docker, Kubernetes, Open Stack.
Experience or familiarity with message-based microservices.
Knowledge of Elasticsearch or Kafka ? ideal.
Experience in optimising the performance, scalability and reliability of software applications.
Ability to quickly adapt to a new environment, and actively suggest ideas or improvements based on past experience.
Polished communication and interpersonal skills.
