Datamine is a leading analytics consultancy who works with businesses across New Zealand and Australia. We empower people to use data analytics – giving people power through the ethical use of technology to make decisions that transform their work, lives, and communities for the better.The objective of this role is to support and improve our existing technical environment, but also engage in future planning and organisation to support the efficient running of infrastructure for Datamine.Main responsibilitiesMaintain and optimise Datamine's systems and network infrastructureIdentify and resolve hardware and network performance issuesEngage and contribute to Datamine's long-term technology strategyInvestigation of technical issues, the ability to diagnose root causes of issues and plan for long-term resolutionsEnsure our data security measures are robustMaintain Datamine's infrastructure, network, and AWS environmentActively manage, improve, and monitor resources in local and cloud (especially AWS), including backups, patches, and scalingBuild and maintain hardware and operating systems mainly focused on Linux environmentsSupport and improve Datamine's virtual environments (Virtualisation with VMware)Create and maintain infrastructure documentationConduct systems monitoring to prescribed SLA'sFacilitate backups of Datamine's systemsYou would fit right in at Datamine if you have:5 years of experience working in a commercial environment as a Systems Administrator/Engineer or Infrastructure Support roleGood understanding of network and security technology and principlesHands-on experience with configuring and maintaining resources in AWSExperience automating cloud-infrastructure, storage back-ups and systems monitoringStrong experience working with AWS, Linux, VMware.
