He angitutanga | About the role The focus of the role is providing strategic advice, planning, monitoring, and reporting on the district Biodiversity team's work. This is a strategic role and requires a high degree of planning and strategic thinking to be successful. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a strong, hardworking team protecting conservation in the district alongside our Treaty partners and adjacent landowners. The position will be focused on: * providing strategic advice to the Operations Manager on Biodiversity work priorities * coordinating and planning for Biodiversity rangers * monitoring and reporting on financial performance and resource allocation * supporting and advising the Operations Manager, biodiversity team and wider district team on national, regional, and local priorities * supporting aspirations of iwi * engaging effectively and confidently in Te Ao Maori environment * managing relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you: * Be comfortable pulling reports and utilising the data to make informed decisions, financial and non-financial. * Have previous experience delegating and planning workloads for a wider team. * Understand and have experience in how to prioritise critical tasks and issues. * Demonstrate exceptional ecological skills. * Be able to identify issues, opportunities, and innovative solutions. * Be adept at learning and using a wide range of systems and processes. * Possess experience in working with whanau, hapu and iwi, with an understanding of te ao Maori. * Have a good understanding of te reo me ona tikanga. * Hold a current full New Zealand driver licence.
