This reputable tier 2 contractor boasts decades of experience and maintains offices across Auckland, Wellington, Bay of Plenty, and Waikato. Renowned for its adaptability, this main contractor successfully undertakes a variety of projects, including retail, remediation, health, education, residential, services, and more. Overview This role is an integral part of our client's Project Management team and holds a position within senior management. The primary objective of the Project Manager is to oversee and manage construction projects with utmost safety and efficiency. This entails ensuring that both the standards and client expectations are met, delivering on contract requirements to the highest standards, within set timelines and budgets. Additionally, the Project Manager is responsible for optimising project profitability by effectively coordinating all project activities and resources. Key Responsibilities: Relationship management with both the client and project team. Manage allocated project(s) so that established financial budgets for each project. Manage and coordinate the operational and resource requirements of the allocated project(s). Ensure quality targets are met in order for the project to attain and retain contractual, legal and company standards. Health & Safety. Effectively coordinate and maintain project documentation in a manner that meets all statutory, company, and operational requirements. What you'll need to succeed: Relevant experience within the construction industry, ideally a minimum of 10 years. A sound working knowledge of construction programming and logistics. The ability to lead a team and hold good relationships with subcontractors and clients. Proven delivery of project outcomes within the contractual documentation requirements. A qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or another relevant field would be valuable. Holder of a current Site Safe Gold Card. Holder of a current First Aid Certificate. Proven experience in negotiation and conflict management. An excellent working knowledge of NZIA SCCI, NZS3910 and the Construction Contracts Act 2002 Proven ability to write commercial and contractual letters and reports. A high-quality working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
