At the heart of the PSN is a new, modern and secure national digital Land Mobile Radio (LMR) network for emergency services to rely on as a network of last resort.Mo te tunga | About the roleWe are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to manage the NGCC work required for the emergency services agencies to prepare for and migrate to the LMR network. This involves supporting agencies in transitioning to the LMR network through collaborative and integrated project planning and management, working effectively with vendor(s), aligning nationwide logistical deployments and coordinating organizational change activities.Your ability to be "hands on" managing complex projects or workstreams, engage with business stakeholders effectively, and ensure adherence to delivery timeframes will be crucial for success in this role.Key accountabilities:Work effectively as a member of the NGCC LMR project management team, leading the agency migration and support workstream.Being the primary conduit between NGCC and agency programme/project managers, aligned and consolidating project planning, reporting, dependency, risk and issue management across all contributors.Maintaining an integrated schedule of NGCC, agency and vendor activities, and leading the resolution of schedule-related issues relating to the transition.Maintain oversight and resolve obstacles regarding LMR radio terminal/device deployment arrangements, scheduling and logistics between the solution vendor and agencies, while looking for overall efficiencies in the physical deployment processes.Assist NGCC and agencies to prepare for and manage the business change associated with the LMR network being commissioned.Provide further project management support to other workstream leads including authoring updates, option papers and other governance submissions.Create and maintain constructive relationships, aligned approaches, maintaining scope boundaries and resolving issues with stakeholders.He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bringThe New Zealand Government has embarked on the Next Generation Critical Communications (NGCC) programme, which aims to deliver a modern communication communications capability for New Zealand's Emergency Services. As one of the government's largest strategic infrastructure initiatives, NGCC's key deliverable is to ensure the Emergency Services sector has reliable communications to help enhance public wellbeing, enforce the law, protect people and property and communicate with each other.The NGCC programme is a unique cross agency initiative representing the four Emergency Services: Fire and Emergency New Zealand, New Zealand Police, St John and Wellington Free Ambulance.
