We are building a Line 2 Risk team who are passionate about putting customers first, partnering with others in pragmatically driving action, and supporting business decisions which deliver the best outcomes for our stakeholders, people and customers.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting newly created opportunity for a passionate professional to play a key role in the redesign, implementation and ongoing review of ASB's approach to Operational Risk Management, including frameworks, practices and tools with a focus on IBM OpenPages.
As the Senior Operational Risk Manager/Product Owner, you will:
Own and drive the product roadmap by communicating the product vision, growth opportunities to the wider ASB community.
Ensure the team are taking ownership of the capabilities that they are responsible for, while ensuring that business benefits are delivered.
Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk and engaging with your stakeholders to understand their issues, immediate and strategic priorities, keeping them informed of scheduled activity and delivery timelines.
Champion our efforts to strengthen ASBs risk culture.
Skills and experience required
As a strategic thinker and someone who understands the commercial objectives of a business, you will thrive in an opportunity to drive ongoing uplift in operational risk management across ASB. The following experience will also ensure your success in this role:
Experience in Operational Risk disciplines ideally gained within large organisations.
Practical exposure to operational risk management tools.
Wide industry knowledge of IT and understanding of software life cycle events and issues.
Ability to engage easily with senior leaders / executives.
Experience working in an agile environment preferred.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
