The position
We are looking for an experienced site based Instrument and Electrical Designer for a varied and challenging role.
The primary tasks are described below:
Design process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems in accordance with nationally recognised codes, industry standards and best practices
Develop engineering packages to represent installation requirement for process control loops and instrumentation that are safely constructible
Develop engineering packages for industrial power systems to include low to high voltage source needs, distribution lighting and grounding
Verify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services in assigned areas of responsibility
The Person
We are looking for the following experience and competencies:
5+ years industrial design experience in process plant instrumentation control and electrical power systems
CAD skills required (AutoCAD preferred)
Relevant tertiary level qualification
Safety in Design (SiD) training would be an advantage
Ability to create/ develop Instrument and electrical design deliverables (cable schedule, panel design and layout, cable containment design and routing, motor control schematics, earthing design etc.)
Knowledge of P&ID's, instrumentation design details, control loop preparation, location plans, instrument datasheets, control panel layout etc.
Experience with ASNZ 3000 Electrical standards
Familiarity with all aspects of instrumentation, automation and control
Proven time management and organisational skills
Self-starter who is willing and able to work in a team environment on a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision in a multi discipline engineering setting
