We have a Senior Health Promotion Advisor | Kaitohu Matua Whakatairanga Hauora vacancy and are looking for an experienced, senior health promotion advisor who is committed to reducing health inequities and improving outcomes for communities in Taranaki and across the region.This role works with the Community and Whanau Wellbeing teams to support the leadership and delivery of health promotion programmes. You'll be dedicated to seeing communities thrive and will partner with them to deliver initiatives that realise Pae Ora.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with Community and Whanau Wellbeing Manager and Team Lead for programme planning, implementation, and evaluation oversight. Contribute to strategic planning for health determinants and healthy environments. Foster coordinated stakeholder relationships. Assist the Community and Whanau Wellbeing Team in leading public health initiatives related to prio rity determinants and issues in Taranaki and across Te Manawa Taki. Work closely with local government, iwi and hapu, and our priority communities to bring about positive change on a wide range of areas including smokefree, food security, physical activity, alcohol, mental wellbeing, and the early years. Technical proficiency in health promotion 3-5 years of experience in health promotion, community development, or a related field Hold a tertiary degree in public health, health promotion, social science, education, Maori studies, or a related discipline Proven leadership skills Experience in mentoring and coaching. · A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
· A willingness to learn and be part of achieving positive change.
