We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our small but perfectly formed Finance team on a permanent basis. You will be supported by our CFO, Finance Business Partners and Finance Officer to collectively deliver the organisations financial functions. In this role you will: Lead a number of financial processes such as regular period end reporting (month-end, quarter-end and year-end) Play a key role in delivery of the financial statements and associated notes for key accountability documents, such as the Annual Report and Statement of Intent Process payment run including reviewing invoices to be sent to budget holders Contribute to the agency's financial response to Select Committee questions, OIAs and PQs Manage the fixed asset register, including capitalisation of fixed assets in the FMIS and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and policies Manage the Audit process, prepare and provide information for, and engage with the appointed auditors, for audit engagements Manage and support 1 direct report - our Finance Officer Support our Financial Business Partners to deliver high quality management accounting services With this role we are looking for someone who: is an experienced (3+ years) qualified accountant (CA/CPA preferred) with sustained professional development. can demonstrate an understanding of the public sector environment in which Taumata Arowai operates within. has the ability to adopt a strategic and long-term approach to their work.
