As a Senior Financial Accountant with One New Zealand, you will offer value-add accounting and operational advice to commercial business owners across the organization along with managing and driving best practice governance and compliance in accordance with NZ IFRS. You will build a deep end to end understanding of our current process and implement change to improve accounting accuracy and monthly reporting. Please Note: This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Ko to mahi – what you'll do Responsible for revenue and cost accounting specific to Acquisition and Retention, ensuring accurate and complete month end capture of revenue and costs from different sources, including calculating and posting accounting deferrals and adjustments. Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. Ensuring that Balance sheet reconciliations are completed for monthly review. Managing risk and actions plans resulting from reviews. Assisting in timely completion of management reporting. Providing analysis and commentary over revenue and cost movements each month. Liaising with commercial finance and business owners to provide best practice accounting advice. Be the contact point for external audit. Na tou rourou - what you'll bring You will need to be inquisitive and have a knack for problem solving, having experience work through and understand complex process flows. Strong technical accounting skills, including a working knowledge of IFRS and its business application. Ability to research and report on various operational and technical accounting issues including having the ability to link and optimise commercial outcomes to accounting requirements. Confident at collaborating with wider Finance team and business with effective stakeholder communications. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressures and be deadline driven.
