Senior Design Manager

OTEL specialises in custom transport engineering designs for light and heavy vehicle truck bodies. e.g. power companies, utilities, arborists, logistics, transport, EWPs Using Solid Works and other software, you will lead the design team (3 people) to develop drawings and innovative engineering solutions for our 'on the floor' welders / fabricators to build. You will report directly to the Managing Director and participate in regular executive team meetings Leading the team of 3, and along with other members of the management team and engineers, you will assist in; • leading and developing a team of CAD designers • lead innovation that improves fabrication efficiency and quality • lead timely drawing production out to the workshop • attend initial design meetings with clients as required • liaise with our 3rd party outsourced CNC, lazer cutting and folding companies • proactively engage with workshop staff to understand their pain points and work constructively with them on engineering solutions to meet customer needs You will have; strong inter-personal skills, the ability to think on your feet, a "can-do" attitude, very strong root-cause analysis skills and have an expert knowledge in; • Solid Works • 3D modelling • animation & rendering • BOM maintenance and CAD document storage standards • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Word etc. You must also have a valid work VISA for New Zealand Please either contact me or send your CV with a couple of references to:
