About the Role
Our Senior Corporate Lawyers focus on delivering valuable and pragmatic commercial and legal outcomes for BNZ and our customers. Reporting to the Head of Legal - Dispute Resolution, Investigations and Regulatory, this is a key role which acts as a strategic legal adviser on BNZ's regulatory change and compliance activity.
Your key focus will be leading our legal support for BNZ's obligations, compliance and regulatory change activity. This will include working closely with stakeholders across the bank to provide analysis of regulatory obligations, advise on incoming regulatory change and ensuring legal obligations are identified and communicated effectively.
About You
You'll bring at least five years' experience in a top tier law firm or large corporate organisation, ideally with a background in or sound understanding of New Zealand's banking industry and regulatory environment. You'll possess strong technical and negotiation skills, the ability to work independently but also collaboratively and the willingness to mentor more junior members of the legal team.
You will be a highly skilled communicator with demonstrated success in influencing senior stakeholders and a high level of motivation and passion to secure positive outcomes for our customers and each other.
