About the Opportunity We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Risk and Quality Management Lead to join our team at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting cohesive, coordinated and continuously improving Risk and Quality Management across CM to enable stronger organisational learning and quality improvement for better and more equitable health outcomes and consumer & whaanau experiences. What you'll do : Risk Management Own, maintain, and refine our risk management framework, ensuring its effectiveness. Collaborate with leadership to proactively identify, manage, mitigate, and report risks across the organization. Champion risk awareness by delivering educational programs and fostering a strong risk culture. Conduct internal assurance to assess the accuracy and efficacy of business unit risk registers. Provide insightful reporting to senior leadership on risk management activities and outcomes. Leadership and support Support and work with Divisional Clinical Quality and Risk Managers (CQRM) to enable cohesive, coordinated and continuously improving Risk and Quality Management across CM. Lead, support and foster a strong CQRM team environment and culture of quality, excellence and innovation that empowers team members to be active participants in planning and implementation of improvements to service delivery as part of a wider Clinical Quality and Risk whaanau Role model District values that is evident in clinical quality and risk management service delivery. Quality and Risk Management and its Improvement Supports cross-divisional clinical quality and risk management functions feedback, risk, adverse events, incidents, audits, etc) to ensure systems and outputs are high quality, contemporary, consistent and delivered in a timely manner on all aspects to support organisational learning and quality improvement Supports improvement of quality and risk management functions across Divisions to ensure they are aligned with contemporary good practice. Ensure that the District process for reporting and managing adverse events and near misses is followed and provide advice and support where required, responding to day to day queries and advising staff of actions required to help reduce and manage any issues that may impact on Patient Safety, promoting open learning, a just culture and open disclosure throughout the district. Ensure that the District process for managing complaints is followed and provide advice and support where required, responding to day to day queries Assist and guide staff including clinical staff and managers on how to review and respond to complaints, within the District response timeframes.
