We're looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a 15-Month Fixed-Term full-time role based in Wellington; however we will consider applications in Auckland or Christchurch for the right candidate. Our role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for driving the reporting aspect of the business budgeting and forecasting regime. This includes excellent stakeholder management with key colleagues around the business to collect and interpret both the numbers and the story behind those for inclusion in annual budget setting. The role is pivotal to the preparation of various group reporting slide-packs, providing clear commentary on progress and analysis of variances together with updated forecasts will be a large focus of yours. You will provide advice, recommendations and insights to the business and work closely with team members within finance to find solutions to complex and ambiguous problems. You will be a senior member of the team, providing mentoring to more junior members and fostering excellent teamwork in a supportive and fast paced environment. Our ideal candidate Our ideal candidate will have a degree in Accountancy and Charted Accountant qualified with 5+ years' experience, preferably within the insurance or auditing industry. They will have a passion for budget preparation and analysis, monitoring against challenging targets for clear messaging to SLT and Group stakeholders. In depth data manipulation skills in excel and/or Alteryx is therefore necessary to be successful in this role. Experience using accounting software systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, TM1 and SAP Concur would be particularly useful through not essential. You must have full New Zealand working rights at the time of application as our ideal candidate will fill this role by April. Our business is highly agile, so we need our workforce to be as well.
