About the team Akina offers bespoke impact consulting and capability building services to a wide range of public and private sector organisations in New Zealand. We work with government, corporate and philanthropic clients. We help clients develop impact strategies and utilise levers such as social procurement, impact measurement, impact management, impact investing and social enterprise. Through our Social Procurement Buyer Programme, Akina offers social procurement consulting and capability building services to government and corporate clients, building capability within their organisations so they can meet their social procurement goals. About the role Due to an internal promotion, Akina is seeking a Senior Consultant, Social Procurement to join our team. This unique role will support our procurement activities, ensuring that Akina's practices and programmes are developed and executed to a high standard. This includes supporting delivery of the buyer programme to Akina's buyers (current and new) to help influence and embed social procurement practices. You will: provide procurement advisory services to clients starting out and progressing on their social procurement journey. coach, mentor and deliver tailored support and advice to our clients. be a lead procurement expert for the impact sector. nurture and grow existing client relationships and uncover new business opportunities. provide inspirational leadership to our wider team on social procurement. You will have a strong commercial lens, whilst being passionate about social enterprise and the impact sector in NZ. A networker, who brings the knowledge, positivity, insights and expertise to 'stand up' and 'stand out' within the evolving social procurement sector in NZ. You will bring: minimum 3 years procurement experience, preferably with social procurement experience. consulting skills and previous experience in a consulting role. excellent client management skills and the ability to develop and grow business relationships. empathy and collaboration. strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills. Experience partnering with stakeholders from diverse environments and/ or an understanding of Te Ao Maori would be advantageous.
