Our clinical pharmacists are valued members of the multidisciplinary team and we make important contributions to meet the complex needs of our unique population at Counties Manukau. We have a clear vision and strategic direction to work together with our patients and whaanau as well as other services in secondary and primary care to achieve excellence and the best possible patient outcomes. In recent years, we have expanded our domains of practice to become one of the leading clinical pharmacy services in Australasia with robust systems to provide an end-to-end service to our patients, from admission to discharge.Aligning with the New Zealand Hospital Pharmacy Career Framework, we have a clearly defined career progression pathway that enables our pharmacists to advance and excel in their careers in the clinical setting as specialist and advanced pharmacists, as well as other roles in education, leadership and management.The key priorities for this role will be ensuring safe and effective use of medicines in patients within medical wards and subspecialties as well as acting as a coach and mentor for junior staff to enable their professional development.
