The wider Risk and Assurance business unit provides risk management and assurance services, and coordinates responses to complex privacy and official information requests. We provide advice and support to help business units build public trust and confidence in the services that the Council delivers and the decisions we make. We put customers at the centre of what we do, we work collaboratively with others to ensure that we make things easy and as seamless as possible, from our customer's point of view.
About the role You will provide quality assurance advice and insights to strengthen the organisation's governance, risk management and internal controls.You'll be responsible for leading and delivering assurance engagements across a diverse range of operations to help shape how we provide services to our ratepayers and communities.You will also lead our integrity programme including fraud awareness activities, the protected disclosure process and contribute to building a culture of integrity at the Council.
There will be plenty of opportunities for continuous improvements in the way we work, so you will be curious, open minded and an innovative thinker who can help us design ways to deliver the assurance and integrity services in new and better ways!
To be successful, you must be a strong communicator who collaborates well and has good report writing skills. You are either working towards or have an audit, fraud examiner or related qualification. We're looking for someone with experience in either audit/assurance or regulatory, risk or project management. You'll have skills in designing or assessing controls and processes. Investigation and forensic audit expertise would be amazing but isn't essential. You'll have experience in the practical application of assurance methodologies, tools and approaches, and can demonstrate how you have previously championed organisational improvements. You will be a strategic thinker with awesome relationship building and influencing skills. Your ability to build trust and confidence with the people you work with will set you up for success.
