Sales Support Associate
Reports to: Business Operations Manager
Position Location: Albany, Auckland

How will you make an impact?

The Sales Support Associate supports our commercial sales team by providing first point-of-contact assistance and resolution to inquiries arising from our field-based Account Managers, Product Specialists and Sales Specialists.Each team member will perform key tasks and be responsible for delivering timely and accurate responses either directly to customers or back to the requesting Sales person. Using a queue management tool in Salesforce.com you will be responsible for ensuring that processes are optimised and bottlenecks are removed to allow Thermo Fisher Scientific to excel in customer responsiveness.

What will you do?
Provide first level support to the field sales team
Respond to requests for information on quotations, product information, standard pricing and stock availability enquiries
Liaise with the sales team to ensure visibility on your activities with the customer and communicate any action or follow up required
Use Salesforce.com to record & document all sales support activity
Utilise the Salesforce.com case queue and assign, process & respond to inquiries promptly
Assign & action quote requests (from simple to complex) producing professional quotations
Facilitate the process for demonstration of products, and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance to process
Assist with reports – from regular to ad-hoc
Utilise supplier catalogues, on-line searches & databases, and other appropriate resources to cross reference products to meet customer quoting requirements. Makes suggestions for alternative products when items are not readily available
Participate in product/vendor/systems meetings & training to stay up to date on new product lines and current systems

How will you get here?
Education:Tertiary qualification with science or biological science topics preferred

Experience:Minimum 2 years customer service or sales support experience

The successful candidate will have:Passion for providing superior customer service and achieving results through others
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrate good problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to think outside the square
Be able to work effectively (and in good humour) in a busy & sometimes stressful environment ensuring all tasks are performed to completion and on time
Strong organisational skills, time management capabilities and be able to prioritise workload
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with ability to build relationships with internal & external customers and staff to achieve results
Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, with Excel skills at an intermediate level, plus the ability to learn new concepts and systems as required
