What’s in it for me? This is an opportunity to work as a Health, Safety and Environment advisor for one of the largest Construction projects within Broadspectrum. The role offers the opportunity to travel extensively across the Auckland region and the North Island. We are happy to provide the training you require to achieve your desired career development – either stepping up from an existing HSE role or starting your career path into HSE from your current role in Construction or an equivalent role/industry. By building strong relationships with your local stakeholders and improving your HSE knowledge, you will contribute to the creation of a strong HSE culture. As a large, complex, multinational organisation, we can aid your development as a Health and Safety professional by exposing you to our sophisticated HSE systems and processes.
The Role:
This role will be reporting to the Health, Safety and Environment Manager. Our head office in Auckland is in Ellerslie but you will be travelling within the region as the role requires. The HSE Advisor role will include site audits, risk hazard registers, assistance with toolbox training, and be involved in special projects around change management, HSE culture establishment and confirmation of protocol and processes.
You are energetic and thrive on the challenge of juggling multiple tasks. Having a strong understanding of HSE implications, will make you a quick learner ready to pick up various tasks and projects within the business.
Qualifications and Advantages:
Minimum 3 years’ experience FT in an equivalent role/industry
Diploma, Degree or Masters in Occupational Health and Safety
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Work Safe Return to Work Coordinator accreditation
Medium level of computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Aconex and SharePoint
Valid Driver’s Licence Class 1
DESIRABLE:
Safety, or Quality or Environmental Auditor accreditation
Comprehensive knowledge of current Workplace Health and Safety legislation
Knowledge of relevant, specific industry practices would be advantageous
Awareness of Industrial Relations environment
An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
