You'll be well-supported in what essentially is a self-managed, with flexibility during your working week.This role would be well suited to individuals with a good overall understanding of operations and business administration, who enjoy being hands-on and customer-facing, as the role regularly engages with stall holders and customer alike.With ongoing modernisation across the market's appearance, atmosphere, and business processes, there's plenty of opportunity to make improvements and keep you engaged and stimulated.The CompanyRiccarton Market boasts a rich history dating back to the early 1980s, owned by a charitable trust the Riccarton Rotary Club . Originally established as a small-scale market by a group of locals, it has since grown into one of the largest and most popular markets in the country.The market was founded to provide a platform for local artisans, craftspeople, farmers, and traders to showcase and sell their products directly to the community. Starting with just a handful of stalls, it quickly gained popularity due to its vibrant atmosphere and diverse range of offerings.This thriving not-for-profit is supported by the Rotary club, giving back to the community!The RoleThis role entails working across a variety of strategic, administrative, and hands-on duties, well-suited to those with the energy and passion to make a difference. You'll be required onsite from 6 am to 4 pm every Sunday to ensure smooth operations each week, with flexibility for full-time work throughout the week. Responsibilities include:Regularly updating permanent stallholders and Rotary volunteers on market activities and policy changes.Distributing quarterly newsletters to inform stakeholders about market activities.Promptly collecting, accounting for, and banking cash income (Transitioning to 100% paperless financial transactions for stallholders).Preparing and presenting an annual budget to trustees, regularly reviewing operations, proposing fee changes annually, following up with outstanding payments, and supporting payroll processing.Ensuring adequate personnel for safe market operations, including recruitment and policy development.Efficiently coordinating employee and volunteer schedules, complying with employment laws, and maintaining clear communications.Arranging contracts with necessary on-site contractors and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.Developing and enforcing a comprehensive Health and Safety Plan, including risk management and compliance with regulations (including audits).Gathering market intelligence and promoting market awareness through various mediums within budget guidelines.Developing an annual Market Plan focusing on growth initiatives and providing regular reports to stakeholders.About YouThe right candidate could come from a variety of backgrounds, including but not limited to retail, operations, administration, or people management.The key requirement is someone who enjoys genuine variety, possesses good organizational skills, and has the drive to continue the success and future growth plans of the markets.Excellent people skills are essential as you will be the face of the markets.Must have existing New Zealand working rights.Apply NowFor more information contact ****** Your chance to to make a difference in this unique role as part of a charitable trust of the Riccarton Rotary#J-18808-Ljbffr
