The mental health and addictions service deliver avariety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking ahuge programme of change to deliver better outcomes to tangata whai ora andwhanau in our region. We know how important strong relationships are; with people whoaccess our services, with their whanau and with the communities we serve.
Asa registered nurse with the staff bureau, we offer an exciting, changing workenvironment and a comprehensive orientation. You will be supported in the developmentof your portfolio and ongoing professional development.
Youwill have the ability to work in a diverse range of clinical settings withinour inpatient services as well as across the morning, afternoon and nightshifts and part shifts.
Preferencewill be given to RNs who have worked in acute mental health services recently.A minimum of two years post registration experience in mental health nursing isrequired as is established skills in comprehensive mental health and riskassessment. You must have a current full drivers licence.
Inaddition to the above, we are looking for someone who has:
skills in effective documentation of clinicalassessments and interventions
the ability to effectively manage workload andprioritise urgent situations
the ability to effectively manage a caseload
the ability to work effectively with a serviceuser and their family
excellent communication skills
the ability to work effectively bothautonomously and within a team environment.
Youmust have NZ residency and a current practising certificate with a scope ofpractise that allows you to work in mental health services.
